Simpson takes 8th in Mustang Invitational

REDDING, Calif. -The Simpson University golf team traveled to San Clarita, Calif., on Oct. 26-27 to participate in The Master’s College Mustang Invitational. The Red Hawks took eighth place with a total score of 969. On the first day, Simpson shot a 317 with sophomore Mitch Card shooting a 75. The second day, the Red Hawks lowered the score to 313, once again led by Mitch Card with a score of 74. The final round was tough for the Red Hawks as they shot a 339.

Card tied for 18th with a combined score of 232, shooting 83 in the final round. Senior Micah Eppler tied for 31st with a combined score of 241. Freshman Garrett Schwietert and sophomore Thomas Fox tied for 51st, both shooting a combined score of 256.

Sonoma State finished first and California Pacific Conference foe Holy Names University finished second with a combined score of 900.

The Simpson University golf team will look to bounce back on Nov. 8 in Oakland, Calif., in the Holy Names Invitational.
