No.15 Concordia University defeats Red Hawks

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Simpson University softball team was defeated by No.15 Concordia University on Tuesday March 24 in Portland, Ore. 4-1 in game one and 9-3 in game two.

In game one, Valerie Rodriguez scored Simpson’s only run. She reached first base on a Concordia error. She then stole second base. Corinne Alexander hit a single up the middle of the field which brought Rodriguez home.

Sylvia Parker started things off for the Red Hawks in the first inning of game two. She scored off a Danielle Crisosto double down the left field line. Paige Gomez hit a two-run home run in the top of the fourth inning. Nicki Feuerbach scored as a result of this homer run.

Simpson’s next game is a doubleheader against the Oregon Institute of Technology on Wed., March 25 in Klamath Falls, Ore. The first game starts at 1 p.m.
