Red Hawks blow away Dominican

REDDING, Calif. - The Simpson University softball team won both games of a doubleheader against Dominican University on Sat., March 21 in Redding. The Red Hawks won the first game 9-1 and the second game 3-1.
In game one, Sylvia Parker scored Simpson’s first run off a Paige Gomez double to left field. Gomez scored on Danielle Crisosto’s double to left field. The Red Hawks had a huge second inning where they scored seven runs. Valerie Rodriguez started things off by scoring on a Dominican error. Leah Metz scored when Parker hit a single to center field. Parker scored off a Gomez double to left field. Candice Valerga brought Gomez home with her single to center. Crisosto scored on another Dominican error. Valerga scored on a Corinne Alexander single to right field. Alexander scored off a Metz double to left.
In the second game, Stefanie Singh started things off for the Red Hawks in the bottom of the third inning when she scored off an Ashley Rovito single to left. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Parker reached home on a Singh double to left field. Singh scored on a Valerga single to left field.
