Simpson and CSU East Bay split

REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University’s women’s softball team split a doubleheader against Cal State East Bay on Saturday March 7. The Lady Red Hawks lost game one 4-0. They won the second game 7-5.

In the first game, Nicki Feuerbach went 2-for-3. Paige Gomez and Danielle Crisosto both went 1-for-3. In the game two, the Lady Red Hawks got off to a 4-2 lead in the first inning. Sylvia Parker scored Simpson’s first run on a Feuerbach single. Feuerbach scored on the next play when Crisosto hit a double. Candice Valerga finished out the inning by hitting a two-run home run. In the top of the second inning, Gomez scored when Crisosto hit a two-run home run. Noele Spangler scored in the sixth inning off of a Gomez single. Trinity Cuff was the winning pitcher for Simpson in this game.

The Lady Red Hawks are 12-10 overall and 5-3 in Cal Pac. Their next game is a doubleheader on Saturday March 14 against the Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT) in Redding, Calif. The first game starts at noon.
