Red Hawks unable to upset William Jessup
Simpson University Sports News
REDDING, Calif. - On Friday, Oct. 23, Simpson University's women’s volleyball team met in the Heritage Student Life Center for a rematch with conference rival William Jessup University.
Simpson played at a higher competitive level against Jessup than in the prior match earlier this season in Roseville. Even though Simpson eventually lost in three games, the first two games were played within three points. Simpson could not contend with William Jessup’s athletic front line, which continually repelled every attack the Red Hawk’s attempted. Simpson played well, grinding out long rallies to push William Jessup into its final points. The third game, however, spelled doom for the Red Hawks. With the momentum in favor of William Jessup, the Red Hawks fell 25-12 in the third game.
Simpson continues the push against Holy Names University on Oct. 30. The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. in Oakland, Calif.
