Women's Soccer falls to Jessup
Simpson University Sports News
ROSEVILLE, Calif. - It was an unfortunate matter of numbers for the Simpson University women’s soccer team (5-7) as they traveled to William Jessup (7-3) on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Jessup was able to take an 11-2 shot-on-goal advantage over the Red Hawks and won the game 2-0.
“When a team is able to post that many shots, one or two are bound to roll in the net. It doesn’t even matter that we have one of the better goalies in our league; we can’t depend upon Jordan to do that much,” said head coach Nate Huntsinger.
Jordan England compiled eight saves while allowing two goals. Morgan Defazio and Courtney Opie each got one SOG for the Red Hawks. Jasque Cassell was the lone gunman for Jessup scoring both of their goals.
Women’s soccer begins to wind down conference play with their next game on Oct. 31 against Holy Names University in Oakland, Calif. The game is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
