Red Hawks split with OIT on day two

REDDING, Calif. – The Simpson University baseball team split a two game series with Oregon Tech on April 18 at Tiger Field. The Red Hawks defeated Oregon Tech 8-5 in game one and lost 10-4 in game two.
In game one the Red Hawks defeated Oregon Tech 8-5.
Simpson scored one run in both the second and fifth innings and then exploded in the sixth with six runs.
Shane Battles, Chris Moody, and Josh Corson each hit a home run. Rico Adams went 3-for-4 from the plate with three RBIs, and Kenny Button went 1-for-1 from the plate with two RBIs. Julian Goodin and Jake Gill each recorded a run, and Drake Crump went 2-for-3 with a RBI.
Kris Warner was the winning pitcher, pitching 1.1 innings and allowing one hit and no runs. Dustin Stoddard was the starting pitcher, pitching 5.2 innings. He allowed four hits and five runs and struck out five batters.
Oregon Tech responded back in game two with a 10-4 victory over the Red Hawks.
Corson went 3-for-4 from the plate with one run and a RBI. Battles went 1-for-4 with a run and three RBIs, and Jared Jordan went 1-for-3 from the plate.
Andrew Ward was the losing pitcher allowing nine hits and six runs and striking out four batters.
