Red Hawks lose to CSU Stanislaus

TURLCOK, Calif. – The Simpson University baseball team lost to CSU Stanislaus 14-2 on Saturday, March 13 in Turlock, Calif. Simpson had three hits off six Warrior pitchers as the Red Hawks fall to 6-14-1.
Dustin Stoddard, Shane Hiller, Brad Hurn, Joshua Weise, Andrew Douglas and Ricky Hogan all pitched for the Red Hawks.
The Red Hawks came out slow as the Warriors jumped out on top in the first inning with three runs on two hits. Stanislaus scored in the next four innings, plus a run in the sixth for a 7-0 lead.
Simpson got on the board in the seventh with two unearned runs by Aarason Perry and Julian Goodin, but the Warriors scored seven more runs to pull away from the Red Hawks 14-2.
Shane Battles went 2-for-4 from the plate and Goodin went 1-for-1 from the plate. Stoddard was the losing pitcher, pitch one inning allowing two hits and three runs.
The Red Hawks return to action on March 19 against Corban College in Salem, Ore. Game set to start at 1 p.m.
