Simpson loses to William Jessup again

ROCKLIN, Calif. - Simpson University men’s basketball team (7-16, 2-5 Cal-Pac) looked to avenge their early season loss to William Jessup (11-12, 6-2 Cal-Pac) when they traveled to Rocklin on Saturday, Feb. 7. Jessup’s Damal Neil made sure Simpson didn’t get their payback by scoring 18 points and grabbing six rebounds, leading the Warriors to a 92-73 victory.

Simpson couldn’t get the shots to fall, shooting only 38 percent from the field for the entire game. Jessup utilized their home court advantage, shooting 54 percent for the game.

In the crippling defeat there were still bright spots for the Red Hawks. Jason Stubbs scored 24 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, going 9-18 FG on the night. Justin Sparks also added 19 points and six rebounds.

The Warriors had five players in double figures, led by Neil’s 18 points. Jessup also shot 50 percent from the arc going 6-12.
