Red Hawks finish third at the Holy Names Fall Invitational

OAKLAND, Calif. - All four of Simpson's golfers finished in the top 20 at the Holy Names University Fall Invitational this week. Senior Micah Eppler led the way for the Red Haws by finishing tied for fourth. Junior Mitch Card put in a strong performance and finished tied for 11th. Freshmen Nick Maddalena and Kyle Herman both showed promise at this invitational. Maddalena finished tied for 16th, and Herman finished tied for 19th.

The Red Hawks as a team finished in third place with a score of 874. Only The Master's College, who finished first, and host Holy Names, who finished second, placed higher than Simpson.

Led by strong play of Card and Eppler, Simpson University's men's golf team shot a 284 in the second round of the Holy Names Fall Invitational, which is a new school record for the Red Hawks.

Card and Eppler both shot a 69 in the second round to help Simpson reach their new record. The Red Hawks shot a 293 in the first round.
