Simpson struggles against Holy Names

REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University men's soccer team struggled against conference opponent Holy Names University on Saturday, Oct. 30. The Red Hawks lost 3-0.
Holy Names out-shot Simpson 19-9. They had 11 shots on goal compared to Simpson's two shots on goal. The Hawks scored their first goal within the first three minutes of the game and never looked back.
Sophomore Tyler Goens record three shots, one of which was a shot goal to lead the Red Hawks. Freshman Luis Perez recorded one shot and one shot on goal. Senior goalie Matt Deacon allowed three goals and recorded eight saves.
Holy Names had six players involved in their offensive attack. Oscar Ruiz, Diego Orellana, and Zlatko Tomic each scored a goal. Martin Maestretti, Jesus Hernandez, and Roberto Zevallos each recorded a goal.
The Red Hawks return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 3 against CSU Maritime at home. Simpson won the last meeting between these two teams. Kick-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
