Red Hawks lose conference game to Menlo

REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University men's soccer team lost 4-1 to the Menlo Oaks on Saturday, Oct. 16 at the Simpson soccer field in Redding, Calif. This loss brings the Red Hawks' conference record to 2-5. They have victories against Pacific Union College and CSU Maritime.

Menlo took an early 1-0 lead off a Sam Zipperstien goal in the sixth minute and never looked back. Alex Vukic added a goal and assist. Alban Kalasa and Hugo Conchas also scored goals for the Oaks.

Junior Michael Guzman had another strong game. He scored Simpson's only goal four minutes into the second half. Senior goalie Matt Deacon recorded two saves.

Simpson returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 20 when they host Pacific Union College for their second meeting of the season. The Red Hawks won their fist match between these two teams. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
