REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University men's soccer team was defeated by William Jessup at home on Saturday, Oct. 3. The Red Hawks managed only three shots on goal the entire game and out of the two attempted by Jessup, one was on the mark and proved enough for the win.

Junior Michael Guzman would attempt to give the Red Hawks an early lead thirty minutes in, but his shot was saved by goalie Jeff Dunn. Soon after, Tyler Goens attempted another shot for the Red Hawks, but once again Dunn was there for the save. The first half would end with a 0-0 score.

The game would stay tied until just under 14 minutes remained when David Ayvazyan received an assist from Jay Weislogel of William Jessup to score the only goal of the game 1-0. Simpson would have one more chance to tie with 3:27 to go when Cal Pac Player of the Week Luis Perez missed wide and the Warriors defeated Simpson 1-0.

Tim Danna , Perez, Guzman, and Goens each had shot attempts.
