Lady Red Hawks can't manage win on day two of All-American Softball Invite

REDDING, Calif. - Day two of the All-American Softball Invitational didn’t treat the Red Hawks softball team very well as they went 0-4 on the day with losses to California Baptist University, Point Loma University, and Oregon Institute of Technology.
In game one, Simpson completed its previous game against Cal Baptist which had been postponed on Friday due to rain. In the last two innings of game one, Cal Baptist finished off the Red Hawks 8-0, scoring five runs in the final inning. The Red Hawks tried to bounce back in game two. Amanda Crocker started for Coach Wayne Stower. She pitched three innings before being relieved by Trinity Cuff. Crocker and Cuff combined to allow three runs and five hits. Simpson couldn’t quite get their offense in gear, only getting four hits on the day and losing 3-0.
In game three, Simpson lost 5-2 to the Oregon Institute of Technology Owls. Hayley Rodriguez started for the Red Hawks, pitching all seven innings. She allowed seven hits and five earned runs. Morgan Davis, who had two hits and two RBI’s, led the Red Hawks offensively.
Simpson ended the day by losing 4-0 to the Point Loma Sea Lions. Crocker made her second start of the day, allowing six hits and three runs. Cuff came in as a relief pitcher. She pitched one inning and allowed one run off two hits. Offensively the Red Hawks couldn’t get on base, only accruing four hits.
Coach Stower and his Lady Red Hawks look to reverse their four game losing streak when they face Southern Oregon University at home on Saturday, Feb. 20. The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
