Corinne Alexander named Softball Player of the Week

REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University infielder Corinne Alexander was selected as the California Pacific Conference Softball Player of the Week for the dates of February 2-8, 2010.

Alexander, a native of Lodi, Calif., went 3-for-7 with two home runs and four RBIs in a 2-1 week for the Red Hawks. The Red Hawks won 8-0 over University of British Columbia and lost 8-2 to NAIA No. 1 California Baptist University on Thursday. On Friday, Simpson beat Bethany University 2-1 and beat University of British Columbia 7-6. All of the Red Hawks’ games were a part of the Lancers Invitational in Riverside, Calif.

Simpson University will continue their schedule on Friday as they take on Corban College as a part of the first annual Simpson Invitational in Redding.
