Simpson splits series with Concordia-Irvine

IRVINE, Calif. - The Simpson University softball team split with No. 11 Concordia-Irvine 1-6 and 3-0 on Thursday, April 1.
In game one, the Red Hawks allowed three runs in the third inning and two runs in the fourth as No. 11 Concordia-Irvine defeated Simpson 6-1.
Amanda Crocker was the losing pitcher allowing eleven hits, six runs and six errors. Crocker pitched 3.2 innings.
Simpson bounced back from the game one loss defeating Concordia 3-0 in game two.
In the third inning, Rodriguez reached first base on a throwing error by Concordia’s short stop allowing Morgan Davis to score for a 1-0 lead. Stefanie Singh hit a double to left field allowing Rodriguez to score for a 2-0 lead.
In the top of the fourth, Candice Vallegra stole home which gave the Red Hawks a 3-0 lead and the victory over Concordia-Irvine.
Davis went 3-for-3 from the plate with one run. Singh was 1-for-3 with a RBI, and Rodriguez scored a run.
