Lady Red Hawks lose to CSU San Marcos

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Simpson University softball team was defeated by CSU Marcos 8-1 and 2-1 on Monday, March 29 in San Marcos, Calif.

In game one, the Red Hawks allowed two runs in the first and fifth innings and four runs in the sixth innings. This allowed San Marcos to cruise to an 8-1 victory.

Nicki Feuerbach was 1-for-3 from the plate, and Danielle Crisosto was 1-for-2. Corinne Alexander recorded a RBI. Hayley Rodriguez was the losing pitcher. Rodriguez allowed eight hits and four runs. She recorded three earned runs through 4.2 innings. Trinity Cuff replaced Rodriquez in the fifth inning. Cuff allowed three hits, four runs, and four errors.

In game two, the Red Hawks battled with San Marcos but still came up short losing 2-1.

Morgan Davis went 1-for-3 with a run, and Bryanna Esquivel was 1-for-3 with a RBI. Amanda Crocker was the losing pitcher. Crocker pitched six innings allowing seven hits and two runs.

The Red Hawks return to action on Wednesday, March 31 against Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, Calif. The first game of the doubleheader is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. Stay up with the latest Simpson University Softball standings, schedules and box scores on the schedules and results page.
