Simpson continues winning streak against PUC

REDDING, Calif. – The Lady Red Hawks volleyball team continued their winning streak by defeating the Pacific Union Pioneers in three straight sets (25-12, 25-16, 25-11) on Tuesday, Oct. 12 in the Heritage Student Life Center in Redding.
Simpson has now won four straight games. Their other three wins have come against Northwest Christian University, Bethany University, and Mills College. Simpson is now 4-2 in Cal Pac with one conference win over Bethany and Mills and two wins over PUC.
Simpson dominated every match with stellar defense and aggressive play around the net. Junior Chanel Coleman led the charge with 11 kills, two solo blocks, and one assisted block. Senior Micala Drews had a breakout performance with 10 digs, four kills, and one block. Freshman Lauren Godinet also had a good defensive game with 10 digs. The Pioneers' Casey Miller had 10 kills, and Melissa Young had 13 digs.
Simpson hopes to continue their winning streak against conference opponent Menlo College on Friday, Oct. 15 in the Heritage Student Life Center at 5 p.m.
