Simpson loses to Holy Names for second time this season

REDDING, Calif. – The Simpson University volleyball team lost in three straight sets to Holy Names University on Friday, Oct. 29. They lost 25-20, 25-17, and 25-16.

Senior Kelly Brown led the Red Hawks offensively with nine kills. Freshmen Lauren Godinet and Cashel White and senior Micala Drews played strong defense. Godinet had 15 digs; White had 12 digs; and Drews added 10 digs.

Holy Names was led by Samantha Miller's 16 kills. Kayla Coleman had 19 digs for the Hawks, and Ashley Nickell had 16 digs.

Simpson returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 30 against Mills College. The teams will face off in the Heritage Student Life Center in Redding, Calif. The game is set to start at 2 p.m.
