Lady Red Hawks lose in Cal Pac Championship

OAKLAND, Calif. – Simpson University's volleyball team suffered a heart-breaking loss to Holy Names University in the California Pacific Conference Championship game on Saturday, Nov. 13 in Oakland, Calif. The Lady Red Hawks lost in three straight sets (25-14, 25-18, 25-16).

Juniors Chanel Coleman and Cashel White each had six kills for Simpson. Freshman Lauren Godinet and senior Micala Drews each had 11 digs. Holy Names' Samantha Miller had a game high 15 kills and 19 digs. Ashley Nickell had 10 kills and 11 digs, and Kayla Coleman contributed 14 digs for Holy Names.

This loss marked the end of Simpson's season. The Lady Red Hawks finished out the season 11-23 overall, 6-6 in the Cal Pac regular season, and 2-1 in the Cal Pac Tournament. Highlights from this season include going on a six game win streak in October and going to the Cal Pac Championship for the first time in school history.
