Simpson loses conference match to Holy Names

OAKLAND, Calif. – The Simpson University's women's volleyball team was swiftly defeated by the Holy Names University Hawks in three straight sets on Saturday, Oct. 2 in Oakland, Calif. Holy Names won 25-14, 25-12, and 25-18. This loss brings Simpson's conference record to 1-2.

Freshman Lauren Godinet led they way for the Lady Red Hawks with 11 digs. Junior Chanel Coleman and senior Jackie Nixon each had seven kills on the night.

Holy Names had a strong defensive game. Kayla Coleman had 13 digs, and Erica Norris and Natalie Kasbarian each had 11 digs. Ashley Nickell had 11 kills and 13 digs for the Hawks.

Simpson's next game is Tuesday, Oct. 5 when non-conference opponent Northwest Christian University travels to the Heritage Student Life Center in Redding. The Lady Red Hawks look to redeem their Sept. 28 loss to the Beacons in this game, is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
