Lady Red Hawks earn first home win of the season

REDDING, Calif. – The Simpson University's women's volleyball team earned their first home win of the season against the Northwest University Beacons. All four sets were a battle for both teams. Simpson won the first (26-24), second (25-19), and fourth sets (26-24). Northwest Christian won the third set 25-19.
Senior Kelly Brown led the offensive charge for Simpson with 16 kills. Junior Chanel Coleman contributed 14 kills. The Red Hawks not only had a strong offensive game, and their defensive was solid as well. Freshman Lauren Godinet had a strong defensive outing with 17 digs. Cashel White had 13 digs. Senior Micala Drews had a solid all-around game. She had 12 digs.
Danielle Nance was the top player for the Beacons. She had 15 kills and 15 digs. Janel Fetters had 15 kills as well. Dana Clark had a strong defensive game with 18 digs, and Bridget Marasigan had 10 digs.
Simpson's next game is against conference opponent Mills College. The game will be held in Oakland, Calif., and it will start at 5 p.m.
