Simpson shows determination against Northwest Christian

EUGENE, Ore. – Simpson University's women's volleyball team showed heart and determination in their non-conference game against Northwest Christian University on Tuesday, Sept. 28 in Eugene, Ore. Even though they lost 3-1, the Lady Red Hawks battled hard in each set. Northwest Christian won the first (25-19), third (25-23), and fourth sets (27-25). Simpson won the second set (26-24).

The Lady Red Hawks were led by the strong play of senior Kelly Brown. She had 16 kills and 18 digs. Chanel Coleman contributed with 12 kills. Jenny Hopkins and Lauren Godinet each had 11 digs. Janel Fetters lead the charge for Northwest Christian with 20 kills and 13 digs.

Simpson continues conference play on Friday, Oct. 1 against William Jessup in Redding, Calif., at 7 p.m. The Lady Red Hawks won the last meeting between the two teams when they upset the Warriors in the playoffs.
