Hustlin' Owls soar past Red Hawks

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - The Simpson University volleyball team was defeated by Oregon Tech in three straight matches (25-21, 25-23, 25-20) on Tuesday, Sept. 1. These wins allowed Oregon Tech to sweep the season series with the Red Hawks.

The Red Hawks battled in every game keeping within five during every match. The Hustlin' Owls, however, displayed their experience in late game situations which was the Red Hawks' downfall.

Jenny Hopkins led the Red Hawks with 16 digs, and Cashel White followed with 11 digs. Both Kelly Brown and Chanel Coleman each had nine kills.

Simpson is now 0-5 on the season and will travel to Fullerton, Calif., to participate in the NCCAA West Region Volleyball Classic. The Red Hawks will face San Diego Christian at 2 p.m. on Sept. 3 and Hope International at 8 p.m. on the same day.
