William Jessup snaps Simpson's six game win streak

ROCKLIN, Calif. – The Simpson University volleyball team traveled to Rocklin, Calif., on Saturday, October 24 to face conference opponent William Jessup. The Lady Red Hawks lost 3-2. Simpson won the first two matches (26-24 and 25-23) and then lost the three in a row (28-30, 22-25, 11-15). In each match the Lady Red Hawks had a lead but were unable to pull out the win.

Junior Chanel Coleman led the offensive charge for Simpson with 16 kills. Freshman Cashel White contributed 13 kills and 22 digs. Lauren Godinet had another great defensive game with 26 digs. Kelly Tycksen had 19 digs, and Micala Drews added 17 digs and 13 kills.

Geanna Foster was the driving force behind the Warrior's victory. She had 18 kills and 17 digs. Hannah Baldwin contributed 15 kills, and Mary Collins had 27 digs.

This loss ends Simpson's six game winning streak and brings the Lady Red Hawks to 5-3 in the Cal Pac. They will return to action on Friday, Oct. 29 against conference leader Holy Names. The match set for 5 p.m. at the Heritage Student Life Center in Redding.
