Women's basketball picked to finish fourth in Cal Pac

REDDING, Calif. - Holy Names University, the defending California Pacific Conference champion, received six first places votes and 48 points in route to capturing the 2010-2011 California Pacific Conference women's coaches poll. The Hawks took 48 out of a possible 196 points.

In second place was William Jessup University with 34 points. The Warriors received one first place vote. Conference runner-up Menlo College finished third with 33 points.

The Red Hawks, who finished third last season and were one game away from earning their first trip to the Cal Pac Championship game, received 30 votes and was picked to finish in fourth.

Here are the results of the coaches poll:

  5. CSU Maritime
  6. Bethany University
  7. Pacific Union College

The Lady Red Hawks open their season on Monday, November 1 with an exhibition game against the University of Pacific in Stockton, Calif. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
