STOCKTON, Calif. - Simpson University's women's basketball team started their season with an exhibition game against NCAA I University of Pacific on Monday, Nov. 1 in Stockton, Calif. The Lady Tigers dominated most of the game and defeated the Lady Red Hawks 105-66.

The Lady Red Hawks showed heart and battled hard against UoP. They were down by as little as seven points in the first half. It was the size of Tigers and second chances and turnovers allowed by the Red Hawks, however, that allowed UoP to gain the upper hand in this preseason game.

Senior Kylie Shaw led Simpson with 12 points. Junior Charissa Murakami had nine points. Junior Kayla Rackley and freshman Bekah Wofford each contributed eight points.

University of Pacific had seven players who scored in the double digits. Taryn Garza led the way with 16 points. Jordan Rogers and Same Pettinger each had 14 points. Kendall Rodriguez, Danielle Peacon, and Christian Thompson all had 12 points. Thompson had 10 rebounds as well. Jennifer Fath added 11 points to UoP's total.

Simpson returns back to action on Saturday, Nov.6 against Humboldt State University at 7 p.m. in Arcata, Calif.
