Lady Red Hawks dominate PUC

ANGWIN, Calif. - The Simpson University Lady Red Hawks traveled to the Pacific Auditorium in Angwin, Calif., to face the Pacific Union College Pioneers. Paige Barrett (18 points, 4-6 on 3 –PT), Dominique Simmons (14 points, 8 rebounds), and Kayla Rackley (15 points, 3-5 on 3-PT) combined to score 47 points for the Lady Hawks. Simpson routed PUC 80-50.
The Red Hawks' second victory of the season could not come with any better timing, as the game was the first of California Pacific Conference play.
“I am proud of my team tonight they played to their full potential,” said Coach Derrick Pringle after the game. “It’s been a tough start for us thus far, but we feel that it has prepared us for conference play. We just started another season and are thus far undefeated; that’s what are mentality is right now.”
The Pioneers got solid contributions from Lara Canders and Claudia Balderas who each scored 10 points.
The Red Hawks now look to take there undefeated record back home to play conference rival William Jessup University on Jan. 14. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
