Simpson loses tough road game to OIT

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - The Simpson University women's soccer team was defeated 5-1 by the Oregon Institute of Technology Owls in Klamath Falls, Ore., on Friday, Sept. 10.

OIT scored three goals in the first half. The Owls' Crystal Forester, Molly Brabham, and Meghan Drost scored one goal each in this half. Forester scored her second goal of the game in the second half. Brook Cole also contributed a second half goal. Rebekah Nisbet recorded two assists. OIT out-shot Simpson 26-3.

Senior Courtney Opie scored Simpson's only goal in the second half. She also recorded two shots on goal. Freshman goalie Morghan Pomeroy had 13 saves.

The Lady Red Hawks are now 0-2-1 on the season. Their next game is against Hope International University on Friday, Sept. 17 at 11 a.m. in the NCCAA Soccer West Regional Tournament in San Clarita, Calif.
