Simpson loses close road game to William Jessup

ROSEVILLE, Calif. - Simpson University's women's soccer team put up a strong fight against William Jessup University on Tuesday, Oct. 26 in Roseville, Calif., but it was the Lady Warriors who claimed the 1-0 victory over the Lady Red Hawks. This loss marks the end of a three game winning streak for Simpson.

William Jessup scored the only goal of the game with less than a minute remaining in the first half. The Warriors' Hekla Goodman scored off an assist from Melissa Plinski. The Lady Red Hawks played a strong offensive match but were unable to score any goals. They recorded seven shots on goal. Kalley Jo Goodell, Courtney Opie and Rebecca Borrelli each had two shots and two shots on goal. Freshman goalie Morghan Pomeroy recorded five saves.

Simpson's next game is against conference opponent Holy Names University on Saturday, Oct. 30 in Redding, Calif. Kick-off is slated for 1 p.m.
