Lady Red Hawks shut out

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The Simpson University women's soccer team suffered a tough 5-0 loss to Hope International University on Friday, Sept. 17 in Santa Clarita, Calif. This was Simpson’s first game in the NCCAA West Regional Qualifying Tournament.

Hope International out-shot Simpson 17-10 for the game. Simpson, however, out-shot Hope 8-2 in the second half. Rebecca Borrelli had one shot on goal for Simpson. Borrelli and Karissa Hansen each recorded one shot for the Lady Red Hawks. Marissa Hand of Hope International had two goals. Jordan Benson, Katie Sanger, and Shanell Thomas each scored one goal for Hope.

The Red Hawks' next game is Saturday, Sept. 18 when they play the host team The Master's College at 3 p.m.
