Moore and Studebaker compete at the NAIA National Championship

VANCOUVER, Wash. - Two Red Hawks, Tony Moore and Rebekah Studebaker, traveled to Vancouver, Wash., to take part in the 2011 NAIA Cross Country National Championships on Saturday, Nov. 19.

Kennedy Kithuka from Wayland Baptist had the men's cross country best individual finish with a time of 23:15. Silas Kisorio from Oklahoma Christian finished with a time of 23:59, and John Gilbertson from The Master's College finished with a time of 24:03 to round out the top three. Simpson's Moore finished in 226th place out of 312 runners with at time of 26:49. Oklahoma Christian won the team competition. Cal State San Marcos came in second, and Southern Oregon finished third.

Obsie Birru from Grand View set the pace for the women's race with at time 17:15. Second place went to Lauren Jimison from Azusa Pacific with a time of 17:24, and Karlee Coffey from Eastern Oregon finished third with a time of 17:42. Simpson's Studebaker finished in 145th place out of the 323 runners with a time of 19:47. Cal State San Marcos won the team competition. Azusa Pacific finished in second place, and British Columbia finished in third.
