Red Hawks lose to Northwest Christian for second time this season

EUGENE, Ore. - Ten days ago the Red Hawks hosted the Beacons from Northwest Christian dropping a heartbreaker 58-56 on a last second shot from Northwest Christian forward Trevor Parker. They faced off again on Saturday, Nov. 19 in Eugene, Ore. This time around, the Beacons blew out the Red Hawks 88-61.
In the first half, the Beacons took the lead early and never looked back. The Red Hawks struggled with turnovers; they had nine turnovers in the half. Northwest Christian's Brian Hampton scored 12 points in the first half. Bryan Castillo led the Red Hawks with nine points. The Beacons 39-27 going into halftime.
In the second half, the Beacons performed even better than the first half. They added 49 more points to their total with some outstanding shooting. They went 55.6 percent from the field in the second half. Hampton finished with 16 points. Trevor Parker had 13 points, and Jordan Buhler had 17 points. The only Red Hawk in double figures was Castillo, who finished the night with 17 points and five rebounds.
The loss puts the Red Hawks record at 0-7 on the season. They will look for their first win of the season in their next game on Friday, Nov. 25 when they take on the Owls from Oregon Tech at 3:30 p.m. as part of the Flagship Inn Classic hosted by Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Ore.
