Red Hawks can't get past conference rival

ROCKLIN, Calif. - Simpson University men's basketball team team took on conference rival William Jessup University on Thursday, Jan. 13 in Rocklin, Calif. The Red Hawks lost 104-71 to the Warriors.

William Jessup dominated most of the game. They shot almost 60 percent from the field for the game. They had a 22-point lead at halftime (54-32) and continued their commanding presence in the second half. They finished out the game with the 104-71 victory.

Senior Pat Magno had a game high 22 points for the Red Hawks. Freshman Andrew Baxter scored 13 points for Simpson, and senior Justin Chapel poured in 10 points.

William Jessup had balanced scoring. They had five players in double-figures. Anthony Anderson had a team high 18 points. Eleazar Jones and Preston Bramow each had 17 points. Damal Neil and Jordan Wilson each scored 15 points.

The Red Hawks look to take on conference opponent Holy Names University on Saturday, Jan. 15 in Redding, Calif. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
