Red Hawks finish in second at Menlo Invitational

PALO ALTO, Calif. - Simpson University's men's golf team was in action on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at the Menlo Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. The Red Hawks were one of three teams competing in the tournament; the others were Holy Names University and Menlo College.
The Red Hawks had another strong showing. They were lead by Mitch Card who finished tied for 1st place shooting even par for the tournament with a score of 144. He tied with Holy Names golfers Julio Cotto and Shiro Kato. Jake West was second best for the Red Hawks finishing 4th overall just two strokes off the lead with a 146 (+2), followed by Nick Maddalena with a 150 (+6), Marcus Mezzano with a 152 (+8), Thomas Fox with a 155 (+11), and Bridger Cotton with a 156 (+12).
Holy Names led the team competition with a total of 584 (+8) followed by the Red Hawks with 589 (+13) and Menlo College in last with 642 (+66).
The Red Hawks will again be in action on Monday, Oct. 3 and Tuesday, Oct. 4 in the National Preview at Corban College in Salem, Ore.
