Red Hawks finish second at SU Invite

Simpson University's men's golf team hosted the SU Golf Invitational on Saturday, March 12 – Sunday, March 13 at Tierra Oaks Golf Course in Redding, Calif. The other teams that participated in the invitation were Holy Names University, William Jessup University, Northwest Christian University, Menlo College, and CSU Maritime. The Holy Names University Hawks came away with the first place finish with an overall score of 452. Simpson finished second with an overall score of 466.

Simpson junior Mitch Card had the best individual score of the invitational (109). Senior Micah Eppler finished tied for second in individual play category with a score of 111. The Red Hawks had two other golfers finish in the top 10. Freshman Kyle Herman finished fifth with a score of 117. Freshman Nick Maddalena finished 10th with a score of 123.

The Red Hawks return to action in the Menlo-CSU Maritime Cal Pac Championship on April 3-4 in Fairfield, Calif.

*Note: Due to rain, day two play consisted of only nine holes.
