REDDING, Calif. - The Red Hawks men's soccer team was in action today at home against the George Fox University Bruins. They lost 3-0.
The Bruins started the match quickly as the Red Hawks found themselves scrambling on the defensive end. In the seventh minute Luke Hammer found the back of the net off of a deflected free kick for George Fox. The Bruins didn't waste time adding to the lead. Six minutes later forward Christian Reed made brought the score to 2-0 off an assist from midfielder Sawyer Meek. The Red Hawks did come close to scoring as there were many chances created by Red Hawk wingers Kerry Meehan and Luis Perez but the attack was unable to finish taking a 2-0 scoreline into the half.
In the second half, it was more of the same as Reed again found the back of the net in the 51st minute. The Red Hawks came close a few more times as Perez finished the game with four shots for the Red Hawks. Reigning Cal Pac Player of the Week Tyler Goens had some chances offensively but as with all of the Red Hawks attack on the day it came a little bit short.
