Lady Red Hawks defeat Campbellsville University

TROUTVILLE, Va. - Simpson University's women's softball team played Campbellsville University in round two of the NCCAA National Tournament in Troutville, VA on Friday, May 13. The Lady Red Hawks earned another shut out. They defeated Campbellsville 2-0.

The game was scoreless until the top of the fourth inning when Simpson scored both their runs. Freshman McKenzie Burroughs had a huge double to right center that drove in both runs. Junior Nicki Feuerbach and freshman Chelsea Dunn both reached home on the play.

Junior Amanda Crocker was the winning pitcher. She pitched 5.1 innings and only gave up five hits. Sophomore Hayley Rodriguez closed the game and picked up the save.

The Lady Red Hawks return to action against North Greensville University. The winner of this game will get an automatic bid to the championship game.
