Red Hawks unable to break Holy Names' perfect conference record

OAKLAND, Calif. - Simpson University's women's volleyball team was in action on Friday, Oct. 28 against the Hawks from Holy Names University who came into the night undefeated in the Cal Pac. The Red Hawks were unable to knock Holy Names off their perch as the Red Hawks dropped the match in three sets (14-25, 21-25, 15-25).

The Red Hawks could not contain the attack of the Hawks who were lead by reigning Cal Pac player of the week Rachael Vartanian who had eight kills on the night. Vartanian had the help of Mariah Christensen who had 17 assists. The Red Hawks had strong performances from Kelly Tycksen who had 15 assists, Cashel White who had nine kills and 11 digs, and Kirsten Duren who finished the night with nine kills and six assists.

The loss drops the Red Hawks record 5-17 overall and 5-3 in the conference. Holy Names improves to 8-0 in the conference. The Red Hawks will be in action Saturday, Oct. 29 at home against William Jessup University. The game is set to start at 5 p.m. Tomorrow night's game is senior night for the Red Hawks.
