Simpson goes 0-2 on day one of SoCal road trip

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - Simpson University's women's volleyball team was in action twice on Wednesday, Aug. 24. They took on the La Sierra University Golden Eagles in Riverside, Calif., losing the match three sets to one (25-23, 26-28, 13-25, 22-25). In the second game, Simpson faced Corban University in the opening round of The Master's College Tournament in Santa Clarita, Calif. The Red Hawks lost this game 3-1 as well (14-25, 25-22, 18-25, 18-25).

In the first match the Red Hawks fought hard but fell a bit short. The match was made more difficult because of the fact that there was no air conditioning in they gym.

The Red Hawks then traveled the 81 miles to The Master's College to play against the Corban University Warriors where they lost another match. The Red Hawks, however, showed improvement upon their previous performances this season and will look to keep improving as the tournament rolls on.

The two loses drop the Red Hawks record to 0-3 on the season. They will be in action again twice on Thursday, Aug. 25 as The Master's College Tournament continues. Simpson plays the host The Master's College at 10 a.m. and then again at 2 p.m. against Arizona Christian University.
