Simpson cruises to victory over PUC

REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University's women's volleyball team was in action again on Tuesday, Oct. 11 against the Pioneers from Pacific Union College. Simpson won the match in three straight sets (25-14, 25-17, 25-16).

The Red Hawks jumped out to an early lead in the first set and never looked back. Simpson was led by the stellar play of Kirsten Duren who had nine kills and 13 assists on the night. Also contributing for the Red Hawks was Cashel White who had 12 kills, Kelly Tycksen who finished with 14 assists, Lauren Godinet who had 20 digs, and Jamie Pickett who had 15 digs. The Pioneers were led by Casey Miller and Lauren Woolley who had nine kills and 21 assists respectively.

The win improves the Red Hawks season record to 8-15 and to 4-1 in the California Pacific Conference. On Saturday, Oct. 15, they will host the Oaks from Menlo College at 3 pm. On September 23, the Red Hawks traveled to Menlo and took the match in four sets (25-17, 25-22, 20-25, 25-22).
