Simpson struggles against Biola and UBC

REDDING, Calif. - The Red Hawks' men's baseball team had a rough day, as they dropped both of their games on Saturday, Feb.18. Simpson allowed for combined 35 runs, while only scoring nine. The first game saw the Red Hawks lost to Biola University 15-5; and then they lost to University of British Columbia 20-4.

Joshua Weise was on the mound for the Red Hawks in the first game and earned the loss. He only lasted three innings and allowed eight earned runs on five hits. He walked 10 batters. Erick Allen earned the win for Biola. The Red Hawks were led offensively by Angel Marti, who was 3-for-5 with two RBI.

In the second game, it was starter Matthew Hart who earned the loss for the Red Hawks. He allowed nine earned runs in four innings of work. British Columbia's Matt Trimble earned the win. Josh Corson was 1-for-4 with an RBI in the loss for the Red Hawks.

The losses puts the Red Hawks’ season record at 9-7.They will look to bounce back on Saturday, March 3, when they will travel to Caldwell, Idaho to take on College of Idaho in a doubleheader starting at 12.
