Red Hawks go 2-1 against Willamette

REDDING, Calif. - It was a busy day for the Red Hawks' men's baseball team on Saturday, Feb. 11, as they completed yesterday's postponed game and two other games against Willamette University.
After a postponed game on Friday, Feb. 10, the Red Hawks were tied 4-4 heading into the top of the 10th inning. They won that 5-4 after just one inning played on Saturday. Josh Yachinich earned the win for the Red Hawks. Kris Warner hit the game winning RBI double.
The Red Hawks' pitching staff struggled in game two. They combined to walk 22 batters. They could not overcome that and lost 20-13. Josh Weise was hit with the loss without allowing a hit but walking 11 batters. Graig Lonergan went 3-for-5 with three RBI, and Warner went 2-for-5 with three RBI in the losing effort for the Red Hawks.
The Red Hawks bounced back in game three, taking it by a score of 13-6. Adrian DeMar earned the win for the Red Hawks. Chuck Matthey went 2-for-4 and four RBI and scored twice for the Red Hawks. Matthew Alton continued to be hot, as he was 2-for-3 with three RBI.
The Red Hawks' record is now 6-5. They finish up the four game set with Willamette on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 11 a.m.
