Red Hawks go 1-2 on day one of tournament

REDDING, Calif. - The Simpson University women's softball team took to the field three different times on Friday, Feb. 10. They lost two games and won one. They lost game one to Eastern Oregon University 1-0, dropped the second game to College of Idaho 11-1, and beat Concordia-Portland University 4-3 in the third game.

The first game was dominated by pitching. The only run was a solo home run from Eastern Oregon.

In the second game, the Red Hawks struggled offensively and were only able to score one run, while College of Idaho was all over Red Hawk pitcher Amanda Crocker.

Finally, in the third match-up, the Red Hawks scored early and held on, with Hayley Rodriguez pitching great in relief to help earn the win for Morgan Davis.

The Red Hawks will follow up today's action with four games on Saturday, Feb. 11, which will start at 9 a.m. at Big League Dreams.
