Alexander receives NAIA scholar-athlete honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Simpson University senior Corrine Alexander received Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2012 season. Alexander was one of 308 NAIA softball student-athletes to receive the award. Avila University in Missouri led all institutions with seven student-athletes on the list.

Alexander was one of seven student-athletes from the California Pacific Conference were also named NAIA scholar-athletes. Holy Names’ Lacey Parodi and Allison Snider, Menlo’s Amanda Vegas and Ululani Reyes, and William Jessup’s Heidi Louber and Rebecca McIntosh all received this national honor.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
