Red Hawks lose close match to La Sierra

REDDING, Calif. - The Lady Red Hawks volleyball team were in action on Saturday, Aug. 25, when they traveled to Riverside to take on Golden Eagles from La Sierra University. Simpson lost the match 3-1 (25-27, 27-25, 27-25, 25-13). It was another close match for the Red Hawks, as neither team won a set by more than two points until the final set when the Golden Eagles warped up the match with a 12-point victory.

Sarah Loogman led the way for the Red Hawks with a game high 17 kills. Audrey Green added 14 kills and 19 digs, while Kirsten Duren contributed seven kills and 19 digs in the losing effort for the Red Hawks.

Lupe Garcia led the Golden Eagles with14 kills, six digs and two blocks. Colleen Stafford also had a good night with 43 assists and 13 digs.

The Red Hawks now drop to 0-3 on the young season. They will continue their road trip by heading to Phoenix, Ariz., to take on Arizona Christian at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 27.
