Bekah Eppler selected as Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University senior Bekah Eppler averaged 20.5 points in two California Pacific Conference games for the Red Hawks and was selected as the California Pacific Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the dates of January 23-29, 2012.
The San Diego, Calif., native averaged 20.5 points, six rebounds, 1.5 assists and one steal in the Red Hawks’ 2-0 week. Simpson won 77-58 on Thursday, Jan. 25 over Pacific Union College in Angwin and 79-68 over Menlo College on Saturday, Jan. 28 in Redding.
As of January 28, Eppler was first in the conference in free throw percentage (81.7 percent), third in points per game (15.7), fourth in fouls per game (3.3), tied for sixth in rebounds per game (6.1), seventh in defensive rebounds per game (3.9), eighth in three point field goal percentage (30.9 percent), three point field goals made per game (1.3) and offensive rebounds per game (2.2), ninth in field goal percentage (40.9 percent) and eleventh in steals per game (1.6).
The Red Hawks have two games this week. They will have a California Pacific Conference game on Saturday, Feb. 4 versus CSU Maritime Academy in Vallejo and will have a non-conference game on Sunday, Feb. 5 against Walla Walla University in Redding.
