Simpson continue winning ways against Menlo

REDDING, Calif. - The Red Hawks women's basketball team was looking to make it three in a row in the Cal Pac play on Saturday, Jan. 28 against Menlo College. They did just that as they defeated the Oaks out by 11 points (79-68).
The first half was dominated by the Oaks, who the led by as many as 12 points. They shot 54 percent from the field compared to the Red Hawks’ 30 percent. The Oaks had a nine-point lead at halftime (43-34).
The Red Hawks came storming back in the second half when Red Hawk guard Bekah Eppler caught fire. She scored 22 points in the half and led the Red Hawks back to a 51-51 tie with 11:39 to play in the game. The momentum continued for the Red Hawks and they cruised to an 11-point victory (79-68).
Eppler finished with 30 points to lead all scorers. Kaila Smith finished with 10 points; Charissa Murakami had 14; and Ariassa Wilson scored 12 points for Simpson. Jolise Limcaco led the Oaks with 16 points in the losing effort.
The win gives the Red Hawks a 3-3 record in the Cal Pac and a 7-14 overall record. They will try and keep it rolling Saturday, Feb. 4 when the travel to take on the Keelhaulers from CSU Maritime at 5:30 p.m.
