Lady Red Hawks defeated by Menlo in semi-finals

ATHERTON, Calif. - The Lady Red Hawks women's basketball team season came to an end Friday, Feb. 24, when they lost to the Oaks from Menlo College (70-55).
The Oaks took a 31-18 lead into the half time break. The Red Hawks were only able to hit seven of their 20 shots. In the second half, it was a much more even game, but the Oaks did not allow the Red Hawks back into it.
Red Hawks' forward Kaila Smith led all scorers with 18 points. Bekah Eppler had a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds, while Nichole Jones also added 11 points in the losing effort for the Red Hawks. Erika Garcia had 17 points, and Jolise Limcaco added 16 points to lead the Oaks. Laurel Donnenwirth also had a big night with a double-double for the Oaks with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The Oaks advance to the Cal Pac championship game on Monday, Feb. 26, when they travel to Cal Maritime to take on the top seed Keelhaulers. Maritime beat Holy Name on the back of their star forward Alexsis Brown, who scored 55 points and grabbed 19 rebounds in the win for the Keelhaulers.
