Simpson struggles against the University of Puget Sound

ASHLAND, Ore. - The Red Hawks women's basketball team continued their Oregon road trip on Saturday, Nov. 24, when they took on the Loggers from the University of Puget Sound. Unfortunately for the Red Hawks, they were outscored by 32 points and lost 81-49.
Ariassa Wilson started the scoring in the game, when her layup gave the Red Hawks a 2-0 lead with just 41 seconds gone in the half. Olivia Roberts came right back and hit a 3-pointer to give the Loggers the lead. Puget Sound never looked back and had a 43-28 lead at halftime. Sarah Stewart led the Loggers in the half with 10 points.
The Loggers outscored the Red Hawks 38-21 in the second half to earn the 81-49 win. The Loggers shot 44.4% in this one compared to the Red Hawks 33.9%. The big difference in the game was at the 3-point line. The Loggers went 8-of-14 (57.1%) while the Red Hawks were 0-for-9.
Kelsey McKinnis and Erin Stumbaugh led the Loggers with 17 points each. Stewart finished the game with 10 points.
Wilson led all scorers with her 19 points and eight rebounds.
